It was sad that we were unable to hold our Flower Show last year. We are now back with a new team and hope that this year’s Flower Show will be the best yet. Our show is accessible and fun, a Community Show that offers an afternoon of entertainment for all the family.
The MHS Annual Show actively discourages experts from showing their flowers, vegetables and fruit to give novice gardeners the best chance of a prize. We do not look for the WOW! factor of perfect huge blooms, king size cabbages etc. Our show is about community and fun, a chance to show off something that you are proud of growing or making in the last year.
Building on our former success we have yet again updated many of our classes to make them clearer and realistic, reflecting the flowers and plants that people are likely to grow in their gardens at home.
We have altered children’s classes by age groups and added extra new classes. Hopefully working towards their exhibits will help keep your children busy by encouraging outdoor growing, activities and creativity. Every child gets a rosette, a small prize and a few, a Trophy.
We have family entertainment with free face painting for children, a huge Tombola, generous Raffle, Cake and Candy table, locally grown Plant stall and Refreshments.
We are very fortunate to be supported by Musselburgh Sea Cadets and The Bridges Project for young people and our local businesses.
Please support us by entering your items in the show. This is an open Show where anyone can enter their produce or craft. We also hope that you will come along on the day for a fun filled afternoon.
